The 1WorldSync team is thrilled to share that Mondelēz International—a global snacking leader with iconic global brands such as OREO cookies, TRIDENT gum, Cadbury Dairy Milk and Toblerone chocolate—has officially launched its new, publicly accessible product information portal powered by our Digital Catalog tool.
The launch means that visitors of Mondelēz International’s previous product information portal (mondelez.specpage.com) will now be redirected to the 1WorldSync-powered solution. The new experience provides the company’s end consumers and distributors access to detailed product label information and content in a branded, searchable catalog.
“At Mondelēz International, we strive to be champions in omnichannel experience creation for our end consumers, as digital shelves become equally important as the physical shelves in stores,” said Ana Sramek, Data Management Service Publication (DMS) Lead, Europe, at Mondelēz International. “1WorldSync Digital Catalog offers our audiences additional product content and new, user-friendly functionality. We see this not only as a replacement but a step forward in our digital journey.”
A 1WorldSync GDSN syndication customer since 2014, Mondelēz International chose 1WorldSync Digital Catalog for its ability to enhance the end-user experience and optimize the team’s internal processes. The platform also helps the company seamlessly meet regulatory requirements like EU REG 1169/2011, which mandates vital product information be available online as well as in stores.
Digital Catalog integrates with Mondelēz International’s product content stored in 1WorldSync’s Item Management platform, simplifying both the initial deployment and ongoing management of their catalog, according to Sramek. With total control of the product content and its presentation inside Digital Catalog, the Mondelēz International team is already seeing operational benefits compared to their previous solution.
For example, with Digital Catalog, tasks like updating several product records now can be done in a few clicks, saving the team weeks spent waiting for service tickets to be resolved with their prior solution. Additionally, with the previous tool, the team spent roughly 25 percent of its time manually preparing product content publication updates. Now, because the product content in 1WorldSync Digital Catalog automatically syncs with the GDSN data Mondelēz International uses for syndication with B2B trading partners, the team is able to reinvest that time on other important activities.
According to Sramek, even Mondelēz International’s sales teams will see efficiency benefits via Digital Catalog’s data export functionality, which enables flexible configuration of reporting in spreadsheets and eliminates the need for manual consolidation of information from multiple documents.
Moving forward, the Mondelēz International DMS team plans to take advantage of even more new Digital Catalog features that will further help them maintain compliance with regulations and champion GS1 data provisions.
