1. Product overview

The 1WorldSync Classification Services, consisting of the GPC Prediction Service and the Intrastat Prediction Service, provide manufacturers with powerful tools for product classification identification. With the help of AI-supported suggestions, these services enable the correct assignment of GPC codes and Intrastat codes (8-digit classification codes):

  • GPC Prediction Service: The GPC Prediction Service facilitates the assignment of GPC codes, which are essential for master data exchange in the Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN). The Global Product Classification (GPC) is used for the globally uniform categorization of products, which ensures smooth data management and synchronization.
  • Intrastat Prediction Service: The Intrastat Prediction Service provides suggestions for Intrastat codes that are required for the legally prescribed statistical recording of intra-Community trade in the EU. Intrastat codes are extensions of the Harmonized System (HS) codes that are essential for customs declarations and trade statistics.
  • These services optimize classification processes and ensure compliance with global standards.

    2. Description of services

    2.1 GPC Prediction Service

    The GPC Prediction Service supports manufacturers in the standardized classification of their products in accordance with the Global Product Classification (GPC) standards. With the help of machine learning, the service analyzes the attributes item short description, item description, brand name and function description and thus generates precise and relevant suggestions for suitable GPC codes.

    The suggestions determined are supplemented by probability assessments that help manufacturers to better assess the relevance of GPC codes and make well-founded decisions.

    In addition, the GPC Prediction Service always works with the latest GPC standards, ensuring that the classifications meet the current requirements of the Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN). To ensure maximum accuracy at all times, the underlying model is retrained at least twice a year.

    2.2 Intrastat Prediction Service

    The Intrastat Prediction Service supports manufacturers in complying with legal requirements for intra-Community trade in the EU. Using machine learning, the service analyzes the attributes item short description, item description, brand name, function name and GPC brick code to generate relevant and accurate suggestions for Intrastat codes that comply with EU trade regulations.

    The identified suggestions are complemented by probability scores to help manufacturers better assess the relevance of Intrastat codes and make informed decisions.

    In addition, the Intrastat Prediction Service always works with the latest EU legal requirements to ensure that the suggested codes are always up-to-date and compliant. This provides manufacturers with certainty and efficiency when preparing their Intrastat declarations.

    3. Service Level and Availability

    The 1WorldSync Classification Services operate twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week, excluding downtime due to disruptions beyond our control, downtime due to scheduled maintenance or any other force majeure event (“Excused Downtime”) and unexcused downtime. Any downtime that does not count as Excused Downtime will be counted as “Unexcused Downtime”. “Availability” means the difference between the total number of minutes in a calendar month, minus the Excused Downtime and the Unexcused Downtime. The result is divided by the difference between the total number of minutes in a calendar month minus the excused downtime, calculated by 1WorldSync.

    1WorldSync strives to ensure a system availability of 99.0% per calendar month.

    For support requests, customers can use the 1WorldSync customer support portal to submit requests and track their status. In addition, customers can contact support by telephone via the support hotline or by e-mail. The exact service times for support services are specified in the customer support portal and may vary depending on the specific service level agreement (SLA).

    4 Provision and integration

    4.1 Access and use of the services

    The GPC Prediction API and the Intrastat Prediction API are provided as internal services and are available to customers via the 1WorldSync publishing solution. Users can access the APIs during product data maintenance to receive automated suggestions for GPC bricks or Intrastat codes. The suggestions are displayed directly in the user interface and can be adopted by users.

    4.2 API availability

    Our APIs also offer the option of direct integration into customer systems (e.g. PIM or ERP). Data transfer is standardized in JSON format using online processing, which ensures fast and reliable processing.
