Who is Premier Foodservice?
Premier adopted The Global Data Synchronization Network™ (GDSN®) over 15 years ago. Use of the standards allows supply chain stakeholders to definitively identify all items purchased by providers and efficiently exchange and update this information.
As one of the largest national group purchasing organizations, Premier is committed to improving the operational efficiency of our healthcare and foodservice members’ supply chain processes by offering contracts, analytics and data cleansing services that are built on enriched, standardized product attributes. Premier’s Foodservice program services over 37,000 members across the entire foodservice industry, including healthcare, education, hospitality, and other commercial and non-commercial segments.
GDSN® Initiative
Why is the GDSN project important to our organization?
• GDSN facilitates transfer of product data attributes that would otherwise require intensive manual effort to collect.
• GDSN enables the providing of product images that allow our members to find and review your products in our online catalog (SCA).
Benefits of Participation
Expanding our data attributes allows the Premier Foodservice team to assist members with a variety of projects to support their product and menu initiatives, which commonly require visibility to allergen information, key marketing & nutritional claims, and packaging details. Additionally, this allows us to potentially align and standardize product descriptions, instead of relying solely on product-level information provided by our distributors.
Steps to Participate
We request that all suppliers participate in this initiative. To move forward please take the following steps:
- Fill out the Premier Trading Partner Form (see below)
- Review the Premier Implementation Guide and Attribute Requirements
