Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA)

GDSN® Initiative

The Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) operates a worldwide chain of commissaries providing groceries to military personnel, retirees and their families.  Authorized patrons save an average of more than 30 percent on their purchases compared to commercial prices. DeCA’s goal is to have the items and brands that patrons desire at the best available price; by maintaining an efficient stock assortment that allows the purchase of new items when they hit the market, negotiating the lowest available price, and tailoring their marketing displays and promotions for the best possible customer experience.  For more information, please visit www.commissaries.com.

The DeCA GDS project team has been working on new process flows that will synchronize GDSN® data with the DeCA Interactive Business System (DIBS) by utilizing a Product Information Manager (PIM). Since January of 2013, DeCA has begun synchronizing data with suppliers registered with the GDSN®. DeCA strives to create an effective and efficient system to properly evaluate Industry offers. To begin this process, please fill out the Trading Partner Form below. For more information on data synchronization with DeCA and New Item Presentation, please review the documents linked on this page.
